you missed one critical component of The Kings PB&B: the grilling, not toasting of the sandwich, ala a grilled cheese. melty peanut butter, caramalized and gooey banana,,, jmmmmmmmm. im off to the kitchen now.

Part of the key that makes the regular Elvis sandwich so good is frying both pieces of bread in at least 1Tbsp (each) of salted butter, (I add a little extra salt to mine). Once the bread has soaked up all the butter, the peanut butter melts and warms the bananas. Then, you can slap it around the double-down and see how it goes.
