There’s a couple reasons this sign is confusing. First, I’m no zoologist, but I can tell you that’s not a deer. Actually, no, that’s the only reason. And here’s one of the most confusing videos ever made and… an equally funny and unusual sign.

hah probably assigned the job of putting that up to some valley girl….
Maybe its suggesting elephants should slow down…..
That sign's from North Vancouver B.C, and there are a number like it. There are others with Rhinos saying deer crossing as well. They're designed to make you notice them, and I guess they do.
It's a goot!

You took this picture? Anyone know what country this if from? Don't tell me it's from the U.S
its from north vancouver bc in canada…
they have all types of animals, and, as a matter of fact, ive never seen one of the deer cross the road, nor elephants for that matter
Doesn't look like a deer to me either. Where did you find this sign?
There's another sign earlier on that says, O dear!, and like this one, the point is to make you like like something is not quite right. The usual response to this would be to slow down a bit and take stock. Just a clever approach to traffic control, is all. Yay North Van! You rock.
What's so confusing? Apparently, according to this sign, deer and elephants are the same thing.
I would slow down looking at this sign too; and damn if I want to hit one of _those_ deers.
The zoologist who authorized this sign ought to go back to school.
This sign's from seymour parkway in North Vancouver, Canada. It's park of a plan by the sity to make people actually notice signs by making them stand out.
@tonafunk
1982 called, they want their phrases back.
Yeah, they are from Vancouver and are designed to attract your attention, and I believe they are supposed to be humourous.
I live where this sign is. Its an elephant because a lot of people dont pay attention to the original deer signs so this one actually makes you look and realize that they're are deer in the area and to slow down.
Ahaha, We have these signs in Vancouver. They were posted by one of the architectural engineers who has a great sense of humor.
That's not a deer, that's an antelope! Geez! =)) =))
You can find those signs on Mt. Seymour Parkway and Dollarton Hwy. in North Vancouver, B.C.
Watch out for deer while riding your elephant…
Hi Evol,
You look really cute..
Heya Josh, thanks for the compliment… ;)
That sign is clear, it says you have to slow down for crossing deers IF you're an elephant :)
this doesn't make any sense
why would you slow down for deer?
it says Slow Down You Elephant, Dear Crossing!
There's no error. It's just warning elephants to slow down because there might be deer crossing.
Great site, where did you come up with the information in this posting? Im happy I found it though, ill be checking back soon to see what other articles you have.
