Back in 2004 the auto maker Lamborghini gifted one of their beautiful Gallardo LP560-4s to the Roman State Polizia. It was a beautiful blue machine. Thwarting criminals and speedsters with ease.
The new Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia, which replaces the previous Gallardo in use by the Italian police force has a 560 horsepower engine that can reach speeds of up to 203 mph. The car will begin service with the Lazio Highway Police Department in order to continue accident and crime prevention to sustain security on the Italian roads.
Oddly enough this crash occurred when the Lamborghini Gallardo police cruiser was returning from a safe driving presentation in Cremona, Italy where it was also on display. All of the evasive and defensive driving tactics in the world couldn’t save it from an erratic Seat Ibiza driver who pulled out of the gas station directly in front of the Gallardo, hitting its side.
Apparently the driver used his training of “swerve first and ask questions later” which ended up putting the supercar into a row of parked cars. Since the Lamborghini is so low-slung, it actually ended up with the Mercedes-Benz A-Class on top of it.
Unfortunatly, the long running (87,000 mile) career has come to an end. Scroll down to see what happens when you have too much power yield on small streets. The driver was okay, but I wonder if he was allowed to keep his job. You know….destroying a priceless (stock it would be $200,000) beast of a machine, you know.

That sucks, although he's in trouble now…
