Fat Comedians on Being Fat

Posted by: Heesa Phadie on April 20th, 2010

Everyone has made fun of the large lady waddling up to the McDonald’s counter and ordering her daily Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese meal, side of 4 chicken nuggs, 2 apple pies and a delicious chocolate sundae (with added cone). There is nothing funnier however than hearing a plus-size individual give their take on being “larger than life”. Here are a few of the funniest comedians on what it takes to be bigger than the rest.

If you’re looking to put on a few pounds check out this bad boy a here.

Scale, scale on the floor, who’s the fairest of them all?

If you resolved to lose weight and get fit for the New Year, chances are that your resolution has long fallen by the weigh-side. But hey, maybe your muffin-top isn’t the problem. Maybe you were simply born 100 years too late.

Thin was NOT in a mere 119 years ago, according to this advertisement for a weight control product from January, 1891.

End despair! Get plump in four weeks.

End despair! Get plump in four weeks.

My favorite part is the testimonial: “In four weeks Professor William’s famed FAT-TEN-U FOODS increased my weight 39 pounds, gave me new womanly vigor & developed me finely. My two sisters also use FAN-TEN-U and have gained much needed fleshiness. Because of our newly found vigor we have taken up Grecian Dancing and have leading roles in all local productions.”

Moral of the story: If you give it some time (another century?) maybe fat will be back.

Until then,  consider treating yourself to the Yay Scale. It turns your weigh-in to a warm fuzzy and sells for about $50.

Turn your weigh-in into a warm-fuzzy.

Woman Attempts To Literally Be Miss Universe

Donna Simpson of Old Bridge, New Jersey wants to go from 602 lbs to over 1000 lbs. Her goal is to be the worlds largest female. At 42-years old she probably only has a few more years to live anyways…especially at this rate. In all honesty it’s more like any day now.

She has a husband and children and is still eating 12,000 calories (roughly 20 Big Macs) with reckless abandon. Not only does she consume more than 10x what a normal person needs daily she attempts to exert as little energy as possible by using a mobility scooter and staying as stationary as possible. She has a website, which I’m not even going to attempt to find and link to, where she “allows” people to watch her eat.

I hate to say it but this is clearly one of the reasons other countries have a poor view of the States. Not to say that she in any way represents anything that any of us are about but when we’re already an obese nation and our fast food culture is invading other nations this is probably the last image foreigners need to see.

Here is Stephen Colbert’s take on Ms. Simpson:

There are many foods that have become staples in supermarkets and homes all across the country. Many argue that the unhealthy nature of these staple foods we’ve been bred to consume is to blame for making us so, well, unhealthy. So if you want to enjoy all your favorite foods, you’ve got to find an alternative. Luckily, food brands make it easy by offering low-fat versions of their own products. So for those of you that need the help, here’s some info for ya…

When it comes to weight issues, the quickest culprit to blame is the calorie. Losing weight and eating right can be hard when there are so many faster, less expensive, and more convenient options available, like fast food. But for those who watch what they eat and what they spend, here’s an interesting infographic that shows the calories per dollar (CPD) of some of our favorite fast food items.

Check out the CPD after the jump:
