The is sort of an eerie look at what was prepared had the astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin not made it back. While everyone waited with bated breath on July 18, 1969 to see how the landing would proceed, President Nixon had this speech waiting to read in the event that everything didn’t go as planned.
It’s pretty interesting to see that they write these things just in case. Kind of makes you wonder what other sort of speeches have been written for other such events.
The instructions included at the bottom are a bit creepy too. But I guess things like this must be in order and ready to go. It’s just all a bit strange though.
