Who needs a bun when you’ve got an extra piece of chicken laying around? Not me. As soon as I find out which KFC sells these masterpieces they call the Double Down, I’m taking a road trip. It’s got bacon, two types of cheese, it’s covered in the Colonel’s sauce, and instead of buns, you’ve got crispy boneless fried chicken on either side. Yumm.
At first, I was skeptical, but Foodgeekery provides a couple pictures, including the in-store signage (below) and a commercial for the heart attack in a box. Really, though, I could care less, because this just gave me an idea. The next time I go anywhere I’m just ordering two chicken sandwiches, throwing away the buns, and making my own.
