Gaming For Charity

I’m actually not even a big gamer. I like the idea of video games and I always want to get into them but when it really comes around to it I often stop playing after only a half hour or so…and then I rarely get back into the game. Neither here nor there, I heard about this awesome thing a few indie game developers are doing and I just had to tell you about it.

The crew over at Wolfire have collected 5 games from indie developers all of which are DRM free and will run on Windows, Mac or Linux. Here’s the thing…normally they retail for a combined $80 but they’ve agreed to sell them to you at whatever price you deem appropriate. You literally set the price you think is fair…and even better, some of the proceeds go to Child’s Play charity and Electronic Frontier Foundation. You can actually set where you’d like your money to go…spread evenly between the developers and the charities, only to the charities, a specific developer, etc.

Check out the video showing off some of the games and head over to Wolfire to download the bundle. I honestly might not even play them but I had to donate towards the cause…’cause it’s just so cool that they’re doing this. DO IT!!!

  1. I agree. I see Okami, a game I loved so much I bought it twice, bomb on two separate occasions whilst Activision shits out another Call of Duty and it sells kajillions. I'm an odd kind of gamer, I bought Okami and Psychonauts, and am looking into other obscure gems, whereas I've never bought a Call of Duty.
