UP was good, in that whole animated-for-kids-but-ill-still-watch-it-cause-some-girl-i-like-wants-me-to-go-with-her kinda way. I would have preferred to see UP IRL and it looks like I just might be able to soon enough!

Hahaha that's awesome.
It's sort of sad, when you think of it…
Is this the house in Ballard (Seattle, WA)?
Holly shit! It totally is the house in Ballard. http://bit.ly/VLbUO
the lady that lived there was offered over a million dollars to move she said no and she died there last year it was passed on to one of the construction managers that treated her nice
Lol, that's crazy :) Dugg ;)
Lmao,
Huston we have a problem,
Balloons insufficient for take off.
anyone know the story behind this?
Isn't that in Seattle???
Hehe aaawww!! Where is this??
Obviously this is a promotional by Pixar, trying to "go viral" by building a fake house next to a fake building. Balloons are probably fake too. YAWN, FAIL.
more balloons will do …
RIP Edith Macefield, truly a Ballard Legend. For anyone who doesn't know the story, she refused to sell her tiny house to developers so they simply built around her.

this is right here in seattle between ballard and fremont.
UP…?
I don`t know if you know, but this is actually a part of the advertising campaign for the Up! cartoon ;)
Awesome!!!
Haha, he's getting there!
Sad and funny at the same time. I think it needs more balloons, though.
that's so kool!
We need the google map to this ASAP! lol
I hope this is a work-in-progress for the would-be adventurer … because it's not going that well.
Is this a hobit house ?
Very amusing, and this looks real or possibly constructed just for a stunt. When you post something as "IRL," you please tell us where "IRL" we can find this.
@Caitlin
GGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Where is this?!
Pretty funny. 'Gonna need some more baloons, though.
Stugots!
LOL DUDES!
Taht nevar happans in Brazil!
That just looks like a promo for the movie. It was a promo: http://blog.seattlepi.com/thebigblog/archives/169…
Nice that looks like fun
why the building company didnt offer a good price to house owner…or atleast eh
Now all you have to do is add about 20,000 more balloons.
Yah… the woman that used to live there, and wouldn't sell her house… she died. Pixar bought the house… it's actually a good story… you're kind of superficial…
That's over in Ballard. That house used to sit next to a crappy empty lot, the lady refused to sell and then died right after construction started. Awesome.
You could throw some mad parties if you lived there, nobody to call the cops on you for noise. I wonder if they'd let you build a rock climbing wall on their building…
Just a few more balloons to go!
1446 NW 46th St
Seattle, WA 98107
that's wicked, where is that?
this was done by the peeps who made UP to publicize it
Sick!
Hey, that's Edith Macefield's house in Seattle.

It's missing a few balloons ;)
That is fricken sweet!
needs more balloons!
Thats plain stupid.
Be thorough and provide some background. The back story is much more interesting.
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/dannywestne…
Thats in the Ballard area of Seattle. Old lady refused to sell her land to developers. Sadly, she has since died. Her legacy lives on through this stand against the Man. Many people have have gotten an image of that house tattooed as a sign of rebellion against the developing of such a historic area.
Movie was based off this house…
shopped.
shopped.
blehh i wanna threw up

where is this? That house looks fake but even if its just an installation that would be cool. It would be awesome if it was real.

What?
I came here from Digg with no context, I have no idea what UP is or what this image is or why it is funny, or cool, or anything.

I'll watch it cause I want to watch, and don't need a lame excuse to reaffirm my masculinity.

So for those that want to know the story behind this.
The house is located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. For years developers hounded a little old lady about selling her home so they could build condo's around it, of course she refused because she loved her home and did not want to move even though they were offering upwards of 2.5 million for it. Eventually the condo's were built and the little old lady passed away. The house west left to one of her neighbors who to this day has no intention of selling it although the Disney company came to him with the "Up" idea and he obliged.

The real story behind this is pretty neat. tTis was the home of Edith Macefield of Ballard, Washington. Her story was a popular one here in Seattle. The balloons are for the movie "up" promotion. Read more here:

when you go to the Google street pic and zoom in you can see that the house is too small to be a real house. The car in front puts it in perspective. It's cute, though.
