BILLY’S STORY
When Billy’s childhood friend needed a kidney transplant in order to live, Billy The Human Billboard was born. Billy was working at a Sam’s Club in Alaska when he heard of his friend’s illness. However, donating a kidney takes money, from travel expenses to and from the hospital and the cost of the surgery to the money it would take to live during recovery time. Unfortunately, Billy didn’t have any saved up, so he devised a plan to earn the necessary funds to save his friend’s life.
Billy Gibby, a well known boxer from Anchorage, Alaska, had seen prize fights in which companies would pay to put temporary tattoos on fighters to advertise their brand. So, Billy thought, why not do the same, but instead of using temporary tattoos, he chose to offer the real deal in exchange for advertising dollars to raise money for organ donation awareness and to help with the costs of raising a family.
ABOUT BILLY
Born in Walnut Creek, California, Billy now lives in Anchorage, Alaska with his fiance, Mailyne, and their kids, Princess and William. Billy is a successful toughman fighter with a record of 18 wins, 0 losses. He has been featured in The Anchorage Press, Anchorage Daily News, San Diego Tribune, Business Weekly and has been on news shows in California as well as Alaska. He will be featured in an upcoming issue of Rebel Ink Magazine and is the subject of a new documentary about organ donation by director Matt Radecki, due out in January. Billy hopes to be added to the Guinness Book of World Records for most area of ones body covered in tattoo advertisements.
