In this economy it’s tough to not want to mooch off the ‘rents. I know I did for as long as I can. But when you are nearing that ripe old age of 30, it only seems appropriate to get out there and get a new job. I hear a lot of people talking about how there are NO jobs whatsoever. Eff that…my opinion has always been that if you want to work you can. Shit…I would love to be a barista or even a griddle cook at a diner. I think that would be a whole lotta fun.

Whatever…you know you can get a J.O.B. if you wanted to. Maybe if you got off the Internets and stopped playing WoW for a little. Remember Monster.com? They used to advertise a whole bunch and became really popular…well I haven’t seen much from them lately. But apparently they’re still kicking ass and taking names. They want to tell everyone out there that jobs are still available and people are finding them in abundance. They even set what a success story site and a Facebook to spread the joy.
“There’s a misperception that job seekers are sacrificing the opportunity to pursue a career that leverages their passion and skills as a result of a challenging job market,” said Ted Gilvar, global chief marketing officer, Monster. “Success Stories demonstrates that our precision matching technology innovation is helping people find their calling.”
They actually have had some really cool jobs and stories. On guy, Greg Drevenstedt, is now a road tester for Rider Magazine. Also, Alexis Tirardo found work as a blogger for Alica Keys’ new website. Not too shabby if you ask me.
Have you had success with finding work? If you use Monster.com and have used Monster.com to get that dream gig then you can head over to www.success.monster.com to tell them your story and be eligible to win one of six prize packages. Winners will be chosen on or around October 6, November 8 and December 6, 2010. In these times we could all use a nice gift. So get off your LOLCats and Reddit and go get yourself a job…and maybe not only could you get a paycheck but a nice little prize package from Monster.
