In an attempt to become a social media powerhouse, American Express is launching a new partnership with Twitter. The basic message is that they are “leading the way on social media among big companies.” The new partnership will open up a service that allows you to sync your credit card with Twitter so you can “tweet and save money on the things you love”. It features lots of partnerships between big brands and retailers such as: Best Buy, Virgin Airlines, Zappos and more (but of course!)
How big of a deal is this? Big enough of a deal that Jay-Z is doing an Amex Sync Concert where all cardholders can send tweets to help him arrange his set list while he’s on stage.
